Biography
Rajiv Hari Om Bhatia (born 9 September 1967), known professionally as Akshay Kumar, is an Indian actor who works in Hindi cinema. Known for his disciplined lifestyle, prolific output, and action-comedy roles, Kumar is one of the most commercially successful actors in Bollywood, having appeared in over 150 films.
Born in Amritsar, Punjab, Kumar moved to Mumbai as a teenager and worked as a chef and waiter before being discovered by a photographer. He trained in martial arts in Bangkok before returning to India to pursue acting. His debut was "Saugandh" (1991), and he rose to fame with "Khiladi" (1992), which launched a franchise.
Kumar's filmography spans multiple genres. He is known for action films ("Khiladi" series), patriotic films ("Airlift," "Pad Man," "Toilet: Ek Prem Katha," "Kesari," "Mission Mangal"), comedy films ("Hera Pheri," "Welcome," "Housefull" series), and critically acclaimed dramas ("Rustom," "Padmaavat," "Gold").
